Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace (POSH) Policy

CoversCrafters is committed to providing a work environment that is safe, respectful, and free from any form of harassment or discrimination. This POSH Policy has been established in accordance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.

We believe in creating an inclusive workplace where every employee feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their best work without fear of harassment or discrimination.

Applicability

This policy applies to all employees, including permanent, temporary, contractual, interns, and consultants working at CoversCrafters, regardless of their gender or position in the organization.

Definition of Sexual Harassment

Sexual harassment includes any unwelcome sexual behavior, whether verbal, non-verbal, or physical, that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Physical contact and advances
  • Demand or request for sexual favors
  • Making sexually colored remarks
  • Showing pornography or any obscene material
  • Any other unwelcome physical, verbal, or non-verbal conduct of sexual nature

Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

CoversCrafters has constituted an Internal Complaints Committee to address any complaints related to sexual harassment. The ICC consists of:

  • A senior woman employee as Presiding Officer
  • Two other employees from the organization
  • An external member from an NGO or association committed to the cause of women

Complaint Procedure

Any employee who experiences or witnesses sexual harassment can file a complaint with the ICC within 90 days of the incident. The complaint can be made in writing and should include:

  • Name and contact details of the complainant
  • Details of the incident(s)
  • Name(s) of the alleged harasser(s)
  • Any supporting evidence or witnesses

Confidentiality

All complaints and investigations will be treated with strict confidentiality. The identity of the complainant and the details of the complaint will not be disclosed except as required for the investigation process.

Protection Against Victimization

No employee shall be subjected to any adverse action or victimization for filing a complaint in good faith or participating in an investigation. Any such victimization will be treated as a separate violation of this policy.

Action Against False Complaints

While we encourage genuine complaints, any complaint found to be malicious or false will attract appropriate disciplinary action against the complainant.

Timeline for Resolution

The ICC will complete the inquiry and submit its report within 90 days from the date of receipt of the complaint. Based on the findings, appropriate action will be taken as per the organization's disciplinary procedures.

Annual Report

The ICC will prepare an annual report detailing the number of complaints received and action taken, which will be submitted to the District Officer and the management of CoversCrafters.

Awareness and Training

CoversCrafters conducts regular awareness programs and training sessions to educate employees about sexual harassment, their rights, and the complaint procedure. All employees are required to attend these sessions.

Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure its effectiveness and compliance with applicable laws. Any amendments will be communicated to all employees.
